Item Response Theory Workshop
Item response theory (IRT) an important innovation in educational measurement has been around for about 50 years. However, it has remained a mystery to most practitioners and is still underutilized. The workshop provides both an introduction to the theoretical underpinnings of IRT and hands-on experience with IRT software.
Intended audience
Participants should be familiar with concepts of reliability and validity in Classical True Score (CTS)theory.
Materials
Participants should bring along an own computer.

Hamdollah Ravand is an assistant professor at Vali-e-Asr University of Rafsanjan and University of Jiroft, Iran where he is teaching Masters’ courses of Research Methods in TEFL, Language Testing, Statistics & Computer, and Advanced Writing. He has (co)authored papers published in Psychoeducational Assessment, Learning and Individual Differences, Practical Assessment Research and Evaluation and Psicologica. His major areas of interest are Language Testing & Assessment, Cognitive Diagnostic Modeling, Structural Equation Modeling, Multilevel Modeling, and Item Response Theory.
